Our powerful genetic database analysis and microsimulation modelling technologies enable us to deliver unprecedented accuracy for modelling the current and future burden of chronic and rare genetic diseases.
We are now expanding our team to include a Research Analyst – Epidemiology who will be working at the heart of exciting and important projects aimed at improving health outcomes.
Primary responsibilities
- Collect and validate necessary epidemiological and health economic data from secondary sources for the technical team
- Process these data in a format suitable for the modelling programs
- Carry out data cleaning and checking
- Manipulation of data as required using R and Excel
- Creating projections and run the microsimulation-based model
- Consult with experts and collaborators about risk factor and disease epidemiology where appropriate
- Conceptualise interventions and disease models
- Translate quantitative results into clear messaging for policy and decision makers
- Interpret and write up research findings into written reports, PowerPoint decks, and for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Disseminate findings to the research and policy community
Key skills
- Excellent research skills including literature reviews, methods, and basic statistics
- Expert use of statistical packages including R
- High standard of report writing
- Oral presentation skills
- Ability to manipulate large databases
- Use of Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Qualifications
- MSc in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science or related field.
- Qualifications/course modules in genetics, desirable but not essential
